Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Trading Applications Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our trading platforms, providing essential support to our trading desks and enhancing the trading systems on continuous basis. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a solid understanding of trading operations, allowing them to troubleshoot issues efficiently, maintain system stability, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our trading environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide first and second-level support for all trading applications, systems, and related infrastructure
  • Familiarity with trading systems and Exchange connectivity. Capable of identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations
  • Liaise directly with trading desk to resolve inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and provide status updates
  • Provide support to Clients and Compliance Teams during Internal Audits, Exchange Certifications, and Mandatory Exchange Mock Participations
  • Collaborate with development, QA and infrastructure teams to deploy new applications, system upgrades, and patches
  • Maintain and update support documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge base articles
  • Oversee the closure of issues reported by users in close coordination with various internal teams and with Vendors
  • Identify opportunities to automate tasks and improve efficiency through scripting (Python, Shell, etc.) or utilizing AI Tools (e.g., Claude, Devin AI)
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures
  • Manage the version controls of trading applications
  • Closely work with Application vendors to resolve issues related to production or product and system enhancements
  • Manage different environments like DEV/TEST/UAT
  • Participate in testing phases for new trading applications, enhancements, and system migrations
  • Contribute to business continuity planning and disaster recovery efforts related to trading systems
  • Provide input and feedback to development teams on system improvements and new feature requirements based on user feedback and operational experience
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Production Support, etc.) to ensure timely completion of cross-functional tasks and deliveries

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in within the Indian financial services industry, with exposure to trading systems (Omnesys, ION Fidessa, Traderpath, Greeksoft, etc)
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading lifecycle, and various asset classes (e.g., Equities, Equity Derivatives, etc)
  • Familiarity with Indian trading setups such as CTCL environment, Algo trading, NEAT, and BOLT
  • Familiarity with trading protocols such as FIX protocol, NNF Protocol, etc
  • Experienced in automating daily system life-cycle (EOD, BOD processes) through scripting (Python, Shell, etc)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting complex IT environments
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and data analysis
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) for data querying and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with Linux (Red Hat) and Windows systems for administration, file management for Interface systems and Exchanges (NSE, BSE)
  • Knowledge of Change Management, and Release Management processes
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Broad understanding of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) concepts and management
