Job Description:

Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full time Trades Person to join their team at the Alice Springs office. The Trades Person position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer, you will perform the maintenance, repair and renovation work in residential properties in the town of Alice Springs. The Trades Person also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements which include but is not limited to carpentry repairs and maintenance, tiling, small renovation projects, reticulation repairs, patch & paint walls, conduct landscaping works, construct fences and fencing repairs, operate machinery and perform paving and concrete works
  • Support of other trades and other personnel and assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance
  • Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and certifications
  • Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner ensuring safety is an integral part of everyday activities
  • Report any incidents to management as a priority
  • Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities
  • Other duties as directed by the Vesta management team
  • This role may also involve occasional after-hours callouts

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand written instructions and create basic written reports
  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks

  • Trade certificate - Carpentry or Joinery/Cabinetry
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a variety of maintenance tasks
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English
  • Must obtain and retain a Negative Vetting (NV1) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian)
