Inspects construction performed by contractors at the Medical University of South Carolina to ensure that work complies with the plans and specifications and has been done in accordance with pertinent codes, regulations, and standards of craftsmanship. Prepares reports detailing results of inspections, problems encountered and solutions devised. Plans and coordinates outages with customers and provides general supervision of construction work done by contractors and MUSC forces on alteration and repair projects. Ensures that work is done in accordance with plans and specifications in a timely and efficient manner with minimum adverse impact on existing, adjacent occupants.
Job Responsibility:

Documents field decisions and prepares daily logs and reports
Helps resolve problems or conflicts during work
Reviews construction schedules and coordinates with contractors, occupants, and Engineering and Facilities
Coordinates work site availability, parking, equipment, and material storage
Reviews shop drawings, verifies dimensions, checks materials, and conducts inspections
Coordinates on-site traffic and utility outages
Ensures work progresses smoothly through frequent site visits
Prepares detailed lists of deficiencies (punch lists)
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years professional experience directly related to the area of employment
