Job Description:

Service Stream is seeking an experienced Trades Assistant (Mechanical or Electrical) to join our Utilities team in Brisbane. This full-time role supports water and wastewater infrastructure under the Urban Utilities MECS contract. The Trade Assistant supports electrical and mechanical trades in performing reactive, corrective, and programmed maintenance on Urban Utilities Water and Wastewater assets. The role involves hands-on support, equipment operation, warehouse duties, and participation in after-hours maintenance as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting trades with maintenance and installations
  • liaising with clients on operational activities
  • completing required data and documentation
  • supporting deliveries and procurement tasks
  • working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • promoting health and safety improvements
  • engaging with external stakeholders
  • shadowing tradespeople and developing technical skills for future career growth.

Requirements:

  • Experience in similar role within the water industry (Desirable)
  • Experience in similar role or as TA in maintenance
  • JSEA and associated HSE documentation completions
  • National Licence to perform High Risk work (Desirable)
  • Experience using HIAB trucks
  • Experience driving Heavy Rigid trucks
  • Confined space entry experience
  • Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development and potential trade skills knowledge advancement.
