Our Fleet Department is looking for a experienced and motivated individual to join our team maintaining and repairing a varied fleet consisting of approximately 225 Public Works, Fire / Rescue and other specialized vehicles. This is commercial transport/heavy duty mechanical work at the journeyman level, involving maintenance, repair and overhaul of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment both in the shop and in the field.
Job Responsibility
Maintaining and repairing a varied fleet consisting of approximately 225 Public Works, Fire / Rescue and other specialized vehicles
Commercial transport/heavy duty mechanical work at the journeyman level, involving maintenance, repair and overhaul of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment both in the shop and in the field
Requirements
Proficiency in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of diesel and gas engines plus transmissions all with electronic control, along with a thorough knowledge and understanding of air brake, electrical and electronic systems
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience is preferred, and the successful candidate must possess their own hand tools
Completed Grade 10 and possess Interprovincial Red Seal or Trades Qualification for the Province of British Columbia as a Commercial Transport, Truck and Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic
A valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with Air Endorsement is required (or must obtain within 6 months of being appointed)
