Job Description

Susquehanna has a job opening for an Operations Analyst to join our team in support of our Institutional Sales Trading desk. In this role, you will be focused on support of trading activity from the point trades are executed by our traders through settlement, clearing and post-trade analysis. This ensures that you will gain broad exposure across the operational activities on the desk including settlements, reconciliations, and reporting as well as issue resolution and variance analysis. Additionally, we will look to you to focus on continuous automation and process improvement through collaboration with team members and our technology team. This will also include testing these activities prior to rollout across the desk. In carrying out these responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to interact daily with traders, peers, clients, vendors and our clearing firms to ensure that issues are resolved as quickly as possible and that trades settle and clear within required timeframes.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and support operational activities related to equity and ETF trading activity on the desk
  • Manage emails/calls from traders, clients, clearing firms, etc
  • leverage technology resources available to automate wherever possible to ensure prompt resolution of inquiries/issue
  • Drive towards automation and continuous process improvement to ensure any issues that arise are resolved as quickly as possible
  • Coordinate with technology team members to drive, test and facilitate automation opportunities and/or process improvements on the desk
  • Leverage tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL and Python to improve reporting capabilities and increase the speed with which any variances are resolved
  • Actively liaise with team members and our KYC team to facilitate client account opening and onboarding ensuring processes are seamless
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve issues that may arise with trading activity on the desk
  • Provide support to both customers and sales traders as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: specialization in finance or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of three years of professional, co-op and/or internship experience in a trade support role required
  • previous experience supporting or with exposure to, Foreign and Domestic Equities, ETFs and Equity derivatives. Fixed Income also a plus
  • Demonstrated and strong experience with Excel required
  • experience with VBA, Access, Python, and/or SQL preferred
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems.
  • Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanour

Nice to have

Experience with Euroclear, DTCC, CTM and/or Alert, or other trading programs, a plus
