Job Description:

Securities Finance encompasses the Agency Securities Lending (ASL), Directed Agent Investment Services (DAIS), and Collateral Services products within Investor Services. The business partners with institutional investors to enhance their portfolio returns through intrinsic value securities lending, liquidity management, and collateral optimization. The business is seeking a government fixed income trader to work on the desk in New York.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage cash investments according to client guidelines and within prudent portfolio risk parameters
  • Participate in daily trading activities to maximize our clients’ portfolio performance
  • Adhere to risk & control guidelines specifically as it relates to counterparty credit limits, best execution, and fiduciary obligations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment counterparts, and stay abreast of macro interest rate environment
  • Identify and present trading opportunities to clients in order to manage risk and performance
  • Work with the global sales, client executive, and product colleagues to build and present portfolio models for prospective and existing clients
  • Prepare market commentary for prospective and existing clients, as well as management reporting
  • Interface with operations, technology, and account management teams to ensure proper controls, settlements and client reporting

Requirements:

  • 6 – 10 years of Investment Trading and/or Investment Management experience, especially within the global money markets
  • Securities Finance market knowledge preferred
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, QlikView, MS Excel modelling & macro development
  • Ability to analyze and determine pricing for short term fixed income securities, along with relative value of investments according to a set of guidelines
  • Ability to multitask and work under time pressure
  • Self-motivator with entrepreneurial disposition
  • Ability to translate and articulate investment thoughts and ideas to a larger audience including colleagues, senior management, and clients
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
