Job Description

A growing investment services firm in the Twin Cities is seeking a Trade Operations Specialist for a direct hire role. This position is ideal for professionals with investment operations expereince seeking to expand their skills in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Trade Settlement executed trades on the investment accounting system and sub-custodian platforms
  • Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies and out-of-balance situations
  • Execute money transfers between sub-custodian, banks, and internal accounts
  • Coordinate with brokers and investment managers to resolve issues
  • Manage transfers of assets into and out of accounts, including movements between banks or brokers
  • Research and resolve discrepancies and ensure timely completion of transfers
  • Post bond interest and dividend payments to client accounts
  • Reconcile money movement against sub-custodian records
  • Resolve any out-of-balance conditions
  • Identify and research corporate actions for transactions eligible for class action proceeds
  • Partner with class action vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries
  • Prepare and file documentation to secure favorable tax withholding rates
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and sub-custodians to address differences
  • Complete tax forms as required for specific entities
  • Support other operations desks to provide backup coverage during absences and busy peak periods

Requirements

  • Experience in brokerage operations within financial services
  • Familiarity with investment accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, and Internet applications
  • Basic accounting knowledge and skills
  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Discretion and confidentiality
