Job Description

Join Our Team as a Trade Compliance Paralegal at Axiom. We are currently seeking trade compliance paralegals to join our bench to work with our F500 clients on a remote basis. This is an existing vacancy.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in maintaining and administering global trade compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support classification of products, software, and technology under applicable regulations (e.g., HTS, ECCN)
  • Conduct restricted party screenings and escalate potential matches for review
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for export transactions, licenses, and regulatory filings
  • Assist with export license applications and correspondence with government agencies
  • Monitor and track regulatory changes related to import/export laws, sanctions, and trade restrictions
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews
  • help implement corrective actions where needed
  • Provide support for internal training and awareness initiatives related to trade compliance
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and business teams to ensure compliant cross-border transactions
  • Assist with investigations, disclosures, or responses to government inquiries as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, international trade, customs, or a related legal/compliance function
  • Familiarity with U.S. and/or international trade regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, OFAC, customs laws)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to have

Experience with screening tools and compliance systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Descartes, or similar) is a plus
