Vodafone Procure & Connect (VP&C) is the combination of a world class procurement organisation and a global leader in voice and roaming services. The VP&C TCC Manager will play a pivotal role in providing expert technical advisory on Trade Controls, Customs and Sanctions (TCCS) compliance matters to VP&C and wider Vodafone stakeholders. The role holder will implement and oversees all TCCS elements of the VP&C Compliance Management System. By operating key controls and advising stakeholders, this position is integral to ensuring that VP&C operates within the bounds of applicable laws and adheres to the highest standards of integrity. The role will be part of a wider Vodafone Group Trade Compliance & Sanctions team that provides expert guidance to entities across Vodafone.

Job Responsibility:

  • Expert technical advisory for VP&C stakeholders on trade controls, customs and sanctions compliance matters
  • Development and maintenance of key relationships across VP&C to enable effective risk management of trade controls compliance, customs and sanctions risks. This will include providing key information and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Reviewing supplier, voice and roaming engagements, to identify potential sanctions and trade controls risks, and to advise on mitigations
  • Collaborate with relevant internal teams such as Treasury, Finance and Legal teams to plan and execute required TCCS mitigations
  • Play a key role in relation to advice on customs matters. In addition, execute processes to identify potential dual use items, ensuring required licenses and approvals are in place prior to their cross-border movement
  • Assist in developing pragmatic and compliant commercial solutions to trade controls, sanctions and customs matters across VP&C footprint. Collaborate with wider Group Trade Compliance and Sanctions colleague to build consistent efficient processes across Vodafone
  • Implementation of Vodafone Group trade and sanctions compliance policy and control requirements within VP& C. Controls include: Financial Crime Risk assessment – Conduct and document initial and ongoing risk assessment across the entity
  • Training and awareness – Conduct training needs analysis to identify high risk groups of employees. Design and ensure delivery of training programmes
  • Due diligence and screening – ensure appropriate due diligence and screening of VP&C Customers, Suppliers and other 3rd parties is performed effectively
  • High Risk Relationship Management - Identify all higher risk relationships and execute appropriate additional controls such enhanced due diligence, monitoring and contractual provisions
  • Collaborate with Group Compliance colleagues to ensure appropriate VP&C TCS data flows into the Group Compliance Management System

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead governance and transformation programs that strengthen oversight, accountability, and control of global trade activities across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong understanding of EU and Luxembourg customs regulations, with additional experience in UK frameworks. Skilled in tracking regulatory changes and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse product and jurisdiction portfolios, delivering scalable compliance solutions that materially impact trade controls and customs operations
  • Ability to design and implement global policies, standards, and controls, including customs valuation and transfer pricing strategies. Experience in orchestrating compliance audits and managing responses to external audits and legal proceedings
  • Proven track record of driving productivity improvements through Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and achieving significant cost savings via process redesign and optimization
  • Certifications or trainings in Export Control programs and awareness initiatives to ensure compliance across global teams
  • Skilled in integrating PMO capabilities into compliance organizations and leading cross-functional projects to deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with cross-cultural communication experience. Ability to influence stakeholders and represent the organization in regulatory discussions and industry forums
  • High-level university degree in a relevant field
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
