Job Description:

We are seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Counsel (Bilingual Spanish/English) to work remotely with one of our largest tech clients. This role focuses on advising clients on all aspects of customs compliance, including valuation, classification, and country of origin rules, with a focus on e-commerce and express shipments. The ideal candidate will have in-house experience and a strong background in U.S. and international customs regulations, supporting businesses in ensuring compliance across global supply chains.

Job Responsibility:

  • Advise on customs compliance matters, including valuation, classification, and country of origin determinations for imported goods
  • Review, draft, and negotiate documentation related to import/export compliance, low-value and express shipments, and trade regulations
  • Counsel clients on regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations in U.S. and cross-border trade operations
  • Monitor and communicate relevant changes in customs and trade laws to internal business partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and legal, to ensure compliance with customs requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of internal compliance policies, training, and governance frameworks

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory)
  • Experience with customs valuation, classification, and country of origin rules (mandatory)
  • At least 1 year of in-house legal experience (preferred)
  • Experience with e-commerce or express shipments (preferred)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) required
  • active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience advising on customs compliance for low-value air shipments or e-commerce operations
  • Familiarity with global supply chains and trade compliance programs
  • Ability to work in a flexible, project-based engagement model and collaborate across teams
