Job Description:

My client is looking for a Trade Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the end-to-end accounting process for all trading activities, including the recognition of revenues, costs, and inventory valuation for oleochemical commodities (e.g., fatty acids, fatty alcohols, glycerin)
  • Perform daily mark-to-market (MTM) valuations and analysis for open positions, future contracts, and hedging instruments, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Monitor and reconcile all trade-related balance sheet accounts, including prepayments, receivables, payables, and inventory
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly management reports, focusing on trading profitability, margin analysis, and variance reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all purchase and sales contracts, derivatives, freight, and other trade-related costs
  • Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to reconcile physical inventory movements with financial records
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/US GAAP) as they pertain to commodity trading

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a strong plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in trade accounting, preferably within the oleochemicals experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with traders, operations staff, and management
