Job Description

Operates a multitude of heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers and front-end loaders. Tractor-trailer operation consists of a variety of trailers including, but not limited to, 100-yd ejector-type municipal solid waste (MSW) trailers, 100-yd open-top C&D trailers, roll-off trailer, and dump trailer.

Job Responsibility

  • Operates a multitude of heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers and front-end loaders
  • Must be able to operate equipment in a close proximity to the public in a safe manner
  • Required to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment as necessary
  • Performs laboring duties as needed in the Recycling Center, Transfer Station, and C&D pad
  • May be temporarily assigned to Scale house Operator or Transfer Station Monitor positions
  • Must be able to perform duties under disagreeable and difficult conditions and have the ability to deal tactfully with the public
  • Must be available for weekend and holiday work

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in the operation and maintenance of tractor-trailers and heavy equipment
  • Must possess a Massachusetts commercial driver’s license A with proper endorsements
  • Must possess a Massachusetts hoisting engineer license with a minimum of a 2C rating

Nice to have

One year experience in the MSW or recycling fields preferred
