Job Description:

The town of Chelmsford (37,000 pop.) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Town Manager. Chelmsford is a scenic community located approximately 30 miles northwest of Boston at the crossroads of Interstate 495 and Route 3. With excellent schools, conservation lands, and full services, Chelmsford is a popular suburban community for families, young professionals, and senior citizens. Chelmsford has a Town Charter, a Select Board/Strong Town Manager/Representative Town Meeting form of government. There have been only two Town Managers during the past 37 years. The Town Manager oversees a $176.4M operating budget and $6.4M capital improvement plan for FY27. The Town has healthy financial reserves and AAA bond rating with S&P.
