Candidates should have a high level of accountability for self and the ability to hold others accountable, be an innovative and strategic thinker particularly related to financial strategies and operational processes, value transparency in government, eschew micromanagement, and be able to build collaborative relationships. The town has an AA+ rating and FY26 budget of $60M. Swansea has an Open Town Meeting form of government with a Town Administrator and three-member Board of Selectmen.
Requirements:
master’s degree, preferably in public administration
seven to 10 years of experience in municipal administration or related administrative activity
MCPPO certification
experienced municipal leader with superior financial acumen
proficient economic development, project management, procurement, and communications skills
high level of accountability for self and the ability to hold others accountable
