Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as our next Town Accountant, following the anticipated retirement of a long-tenured and highly respected incumbent. The salary range, depending on experience, is $95,125.00 – $110,275.94 increasing as of July 1 to $97,503.12 – $113,032.84, annually based upon forty (40) hours a week (Monday – Thursday), fifty-two (52) weeks a year. There is also a very generous benefits package, including paid time off, professional development and health and dental insurance (paid at 68% and 75% of the premiums). This is an overtime exempt, union position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • at least five years of municipal accounting or municipal auditing experience
  • at least three years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Massachusetts Municipal Auditors’ and Accountants’ Association (MMAAA) governmental certification preferred or ability to obtain within three years from date of hire
  • VADAR experience highly desirable but not required
