The Tower Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating tower cranes on construction sites to lift, move, position, and place materials such as steel, concrete, equipment, and other heavy loads. This role requires a high level of skill, focus, and adherence to safety regulations to ensure efficient and accident-free operations.
Job Responsibility:
Operate tower cranes to lift, move, and position loads according to site plans and instructions
Follow all safety protocols, load charts, and manufacturer guidelines
Communicate clearly with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors using hand signals or radio
Inspect crane equipment daily before operation and report mechanical issues immediately
Monitor load weight, balance, and wind conditions to ensure safe lifts
Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance issues
Assist with crane assembly, climbing, and dismantling when required
Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions arise
Comply with all local, state/provincial, and federal safety regulations
Requirements:
Must be able to operate a Luffer and Saddle crane
CPCS (A04) A: trolley jib and B: luffer jib
Proven experience operating tower cranes on active construction site
Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and crane mechanics
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
