The Dinex Group, Chef Daniel Boulud's internationally acclaimed restaurant group, is seeking a skilled and motivated Tournant to join the culinary team at Blue Box Café. The Tournant serves as a versatile member of the kitchen team, providing support across multiple stations and ensuring consistency in execution, preparation, and service standards.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and cook menu items according to Blue Box Café recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
Rotate through multiple kitchen stations and provide support based on operational needs
Assist with daily mise en place, prep work, and station organization
Ensure all food products are properly handled, stored, labeled, and rotated in compliance with food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas throughout service
Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Monitor product quality and consistency during preparation and service
Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries as needed
Follow all company policies, sanitation procedures, and California health and safety regulations
Support a collaborative, respectful, and professional kitchen environment
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant preferred
Experience working multiple stations in a professional kitchen environment
Strong knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
