The Total Reward CoE is an integral part of our collective drive to bring our customers to the centre of everything we do at BT Group. As a CoE we are turning the page on a new chapter where customer-centric total reward solutions will underpin outstanding business performance and differentiated individual total reward. As a reward specialist, you will play an important role in shaping and leading our total reward priorities, and delivering total reward solutions which support both our colleagues and our strategic business aspirations. You will be accountable for owning and delivering customer-centric and inclusive policies and frameworks which align with our wider aspirations to transform reward at BT. While securing your level of conceptual thinking, you will help guide the business through change and risk management, ensuring that total reward practices are future proofed, customer-centric and underpin increased business performance.
Job Responsibility:
Own the full Remuneration Committee annual cycle, including agenda planning, preparation of papers and materials, and management of stakeholder relationships
Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver high‑quality RemCo materials and ensure effective execution of the annual RemCo cycle
Partner with HR and the business to understand and anticipate executive reward needs, providing market data, strategic insight and expert advice
Contribute to defining BT’s total reward philosophy and support the delivery of the annual pay review strategy
Support the design and continual improvement of customer‑centric, market‑aligned total reward policies and collateral, ensuring all policies are clear, inclusive and enhance colleague experience
Collaborate across CoEs and cross‑functional teams to design incentive frameworks aligned to strategic business priorities
Partner with the business to implement pan‑BT reward policy activity, engaging effectively with local stakeholders such as early‑talent leads
Analyse and present market data to inform policy updates and incentive design
Support colleagues across the CoE and wider HR function in driving engagement and understanding of BT’s total reward policies
Requirements:
Experience delivering Remuneration Committee activity, ideally within a UK‑listed organisation, including the preparation and production of RemCo materials
Strong understanding of executive reward across senior management populations, including benchmarking, long‑term incentive plans and share plan valuation
Advanced stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and ensure stakeholder voices are represented throughout reward change activity
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data storytelling skills, using market insights and reward data to create compelling, customer‑centric narratives and business intelligence
Experience delivering total reward change and projects, applying change management principles to implement sustainable reward solutions across complex environments
Nice to have:
Recognised total reward expertise, with experience delivering effective change across all elements of reward and performance in dynamic or disruptive business environments
Strong technical reward knowledge, with hands‑on experience across base pay, annual bonus, long‑term incentives, benefits, recognition, and annual/family leave, as well as a good understanding of HR systems
Understanding of short‑ and long‑term incentive plan design, including sales incentive frameworks
Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across HR and the wider business
