The Tools and Parts Attendant receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices.
Job Responsibility:
Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices.
Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers
Searches for lost or misplaced tools
Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed
Unpacks and stores new equipment
Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors
May coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun
May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.
Monitors condition of all tools and equipment in tool room custody and is responsible for accountability of all tool inventories
Must maintain tracking and identification of calibrated tools and special equipment. Issue/receive and handle hazmat.
Performs all work in accordance to the applicable policies and work assigned.
Must be able recognize a variety of tools.
Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year experience and specific knowledge of tools and parts.
Familiarity with wide range of tools and equipment associated with support of tracked and wheeled vehicle maintenance effort.
Basic knowledge of generally accepted warehousing concepts such as storage layout, locator systems, and proper material handling procedures
Must have or be able to obtain licenses/certifications as needed to perform duties.
Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with the position as required
Must possess basic computer skills
Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Position may require travel.
Ability to work in a team environment
Nice to have:
Experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment preferred.
