Reporting to the Tooling Supervisor, this position is responsible for the planning, coordinating, daily scheduling and transacting of all workflows in the Tooling Department. They create customer success by delivering the best experiences to their internal and external customers.
Job Responsibility:
Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations including those regarding the usage of PPE, Emergency Plans and EH&S Policy
To identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions by completing observation cards
To maintain 5s by removing all tools, equipment, and parts not needed in the work area and for those that are needed to ensure they have a dedicated, labeled home and are in that dedicated home
To monitor for and alert their Team Leader or Supervisor of any abnormalities from the standards in their area. This includes abnormalities in standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management
Completes all CILR activities as required, identifies deficiencies and sources of contamination, including difficult access areas in the workstation, and provides suitable countermeasures to address these issues
Identify existing and new processes that are not documented and assist in the development of standard work documents to support them
Facilitate projects within Tooling Department with a focus on improving Safety, Quality and Productivity/Efficiency
Develop project scope, key performance, and activity indicators (KPI/KAI) for departmental needs/projects based on Lean Manufacturing and to track its successful implementation
Work with Department Manager and Supervisor to build project timelines, teams, and knowledge requirements
Facilitate the execution of projects
Provide weekly progress updates on timelines, KPI/KAI, improvements activities, projects risk and current issues
Educate others on the tools and methods being used and showcase the project as an example to others that may view it
Give clear directions and instructions to both team members with regards to external factors, to enable them carryout their duties effectively
Give clear and unbiased assessment of the movement and nature of projects in relations to production cost and expenses
Route parts from designed tools in IMC and upload to DMM for shop floor to build parts
Work with requisitions to develop clear scopes of work prior to handing over to tool designers
Order materials via SAP PO’s, Do-All, and credit card to support tooling builds
Manage requisitions being designed by third party tool designers
Complete low-level analysis/tool design
To contribute to the continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity by submitting one (1) Suggestion every two (2) months for a total of six (6) per year
Requirements:
Bachelor of Engineering degree/certification
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams
Experience in tooling, scheduling or shop planning functions will be viewed as an asset
Experience in manufacturing environment will be considered an asset
Experience using Monday.com
