Job Responsibility

  • Create 3D models and 2D detailed drawings for automotive tooling, including assembly fixtures, welding jigs, and metal stamping dies
  • Conduct GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure component accuracy
  • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to reduce material waste and improve production efficiency
  • Work with CNC machinists and toolmakers to troubleshoot design issues during the fabrication and try-out phases
  • Maintain rigorous version control of design specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM) within PLM/ERP systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in tool design specifically within the automotive industry
  • Expert-level skills in CATIA V5/V6, NX (Unigraphics), or SolidWorks
  • Deep understanding of automotive materials (high-strength steel, aluminum, composites)
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (Spot, MIG/TIG) and assembly line automation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
