As a Title Attorney, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the legal integrity of property transactions, guiding teams through complex title issues, and collaborating with partners to drive development forward. Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare title abstracts and examine property titles to identify legal issues or encumbrances
  • Provide legal advice to attorneys and real estate staff regarding real property title matters
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, deeds, leases, rights of entry, releases, and other instruments related to property transactions
  • Review legal instruments and opinions prepared by other attorneys and advise on title-related legal requirements
  • Conduct land records research and prepare formal legal opinions on title status and ownership
  • Assist in coordinating development activities with community organizations, internal and external agencies, and other partners

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Experience in real estate law, title examination, or related legal practice
  • Strong understanding of property law and land records systems
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with government or nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with housing and community development programs
