A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
Must have a working knowledge of applicable technical publications and repair procedures for wheel & tire assemblies
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
The ability to read and interpret technical data is required
An FAA Airframe License is required
Must meet physical requirements, occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license.

Job Responsibility

Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft
Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's
Operates all associated ground support equipment and uses hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair
Researches technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment
Disassemble /Reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wheel & tire assemblies
Monitors bench and shop stocks and orders material and supplies as required
Coordinates maintenance efforts with the NDI Shop, Sheetmetal Shop, Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center
Documents applicable forms and inputs data in Maintenance Information System
Ensures compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOO prevention programs
Must be able to work first shift, second shift, third shift, and/or weekend shift as required

Five (5) years’ experience as an Emergency Vehicle Technician or ten (10) years’ experience as a vehicle mechanic
Certified Emergency Vehicle Technician with valid certificate
Knowledge of methods and tools used in repair and maintenance of fire vehicle apparatus, including diesel engines, fire pumps, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of basic record keeping and work order system procedures
Working knowledge of diagnostic software as it relates to general automotive fleet, fire apparatus and heavy vehicle equipment
Knowledge of N.F.P.A. standards for commercial and fire vehicles
Ability to operate and drive a variety of fire vehicles and equipment
