Long-term permanent position for TIG Welders (Piping) to join the Nuclear New Build MEH Alliance at Hinkley Point 'C' in Somerset, the UK's largest construction infrastructure Project. The role involves playing a pivotal role in the delivery of complex piping and cabling systems to the nation's first-ever 3rd Generation nuclear power plant. Roles can be dayshift or nightshift.
Job Responsibility:
Perform welding operations to a radiographic standard
Conduct equipment inspections
Adhere to established welding protocols and safety regulations, including fume control
Identify and report potential welding problems for corrective action
Ability to identify your own welds for quality control
Comply with established quality control procedures and documentation standards
Collaborate effectively to deliver complex piping and cabling systems
Requirements:
Proven experience as a TIG Welder for high integrity pipe welding
Proven experience as a Structural MMA Welder for pipe supports and brackets
Ability to pass welding tests to ISO 9606 standards (SWQ 02, SWQ 04, SWQ 45, SWQ 19, SWQ 70)
Ideally possess a Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication OR a Welding apprenticeship OR an ACE Card in Welding Pipe or Plate
If no formal qualification, at least 5 years experience as a Welder in a relevant industry (e.g., oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, power, marine, shipbuilding)
Must have / be able to obtain a CCNSG Safety Passport
