Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Thrift Store Associates to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with daily operations of our thrift store, including sorting donations, pricing items, and providing excellent customer service. Your work will directly contribute to raising funds that support patient care and essential hospice services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Pricing and Merchandising: Price, stock, and merchandise display items for sale in the thrift shop to create an inviting and organized shopping experience
  • Store Operations: Open, close, and ensure the thrift shop operates properly during regularly scheduled hours, maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
  • Volunteer Coordination: Work closely with volunteers, providing them with guidance and support to assist in the operations of the shop. Help the manager orient new volunteers to thrift shop procedures, office protocols, and safety precautions
  • Financial Management: Maintain accurate receipts of all sales and donations. Ensure daily deposits are accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers with a friendly and polite demeanor when they enter the store and thank each customer as they leave the shop. Provide assistance and answer questions about merchandise and our mission
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist the manager in ensuring that the shop, offices, and bathrooms are clean and safe. Rotate on a regular schedule to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Autonomy: Act independently and responsibly to perform job duties on a consistent basis, ensuring the thrift shop meets the needs of the community and supports our mission

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Computer literacy preferred/willingness to learn required
  • Retail experience and customer service, preferred
