Job Description:

The Thrift Shop Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the shop to include opening and closing of the shop, cash register operation, receiving & processing of donations, and merchandising the shop sales floor.

Job Responsibility:

  • Price, stock, and merchandise display items for sale
  • open, close, and ensure thrift shop operates properly
  • work closely with volunteers
  • maintain accurate receipts of all sales and donations
  • ensure daily deposits are completed accurately
  • greet customers with friendly demeanor
  • assist manager in onboarding new volunteers
  • assist manager to ensure shop, offices, and bathrooms are clean and safe
  • cooperate and communicate with CEO, CFO, Directors, and Blue Ridge Care staff
  • meet as needed with supervisor/manager to review shop needs and assist with ordering inventory
  • seek opportunities for professional growth
  • act independently and responsibly
  • perform additional duties as assigned
  • carry out the mission and values of Blue Ridge Care
  • provide excellent customer service

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • computer literacy preferred/willingness to learn required
  • retail experience and customer service preferred
