Job Description:

This intermediate level role provides in-house engineering design capability and supports the delivery of renewals and upgrade projects across the city’s three waters infrastructure. You’ll work across all stages of projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Investigating, planning, designing, preparing tender documentation, supporting contract delivery, and ensuring quality outcomes
  • Responsible for intermediate-level projects (typically up to $4M)
  • Contribute to contract administration under NZS3910
  • Gain exposure to contractor relationships
  • Support Health and Safety in design
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the standards expected of a high-performing local authority

Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, including Three Waters design
  • Exposure to contractor and contract management (ideally using NZS3910)
  • Strong report writing and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset
  • Competency using engineering tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar)
  • A full New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team culture
