Job Description:

The thermal engineer will work in a project team to deliver the next generation of industry standard server platforms. Primary responsibility is to ensure the overall product functionality and meeting all applicable technical thermal specifications. The engineer will be responsible for the overall thermal solution, creation of specification, design review and qualification, and testing and validation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Designs engineering solutions for thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles
  • Ensure the overall product functionality and meeting all applicable technical thermal specifications
  • Responsible for the overall thermal solution, creation of specification, design review and qualification, and testing and validation
  • Working with select ODM vendors to manage the product thermal specification, development schedule, meet various deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure product meets specification, cost and quality goals
  • Guiding and directing ODM vendors to deliver thermal designs, implementation, monitor testing, review cost and review technical design information
  • Working with third party vendors and suppliers to ensure product features are being met

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Typically 4-6 years experience
  • Using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool for CFD simulations
  • Experience with system level thermal and fan control algorithm
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding and experience in electronics packaging
  • Using CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
