Job Description:

The Therapy Support Specialist is an integral part of the Rehabilitation Therapy team and plays a key role in the overall patient experience. They are essential in delivering high quality customer service to our patients and visitors that is caring, consistent and dependable. The therapy support specialist provides administrative support in the clinical setting to patients, families, members of the care team and administrative leaders to ensure a quality experience for patients and the smooth operation of the Rehabilitation Therapy practice.

Job Responsibility:

  • Patient check-in and scheduling
  • Managing incoming referrals
  • Obtaining prior authorizations
  • Providing telephone service
  • Other administrative support as assigned

Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • Coursework in administrative or medical sciences preferred
  • Proven customer service experience required
  • Must be a strong team player who is flexible, adapts well to change and is able to collaborate with multiple different teams across a variety of Rehabilitation Therapy sites
  • The therapy support specialist excels at multi-tasking, works well independently, has strong attention to detail, and demonstrates solid organizational skills
  • Robust computer skills and the ability to learn new computer programs are essential
  • The successful candidate demonstrates initiative, possesses a process-improvement mindset, and has excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have:

Experience in a medical environment, patient scheduling, patient registration/check in, provider support and/or data entry are preferred
