The Academy Therapist will be part of a wider Therapy team responsible for providing pitch side emergency aid cover to Academy Players (Pre-Academy up to aged 16 groups).
Job Responsibility:
Providing pitch side emergency medical services during academy training sessions and fixtures
Assisting full time Academy medical and sport science staff in the assessment and rehabilitation of injured players
Delivery of bespoke activation, warm up and individual and group gym/pitch sessions focused on athletic development
Implementation of specific injury reduction strategies
Requirements:
BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
Membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) or Membership to the Society of Sports Therapist or Sports Therapy Association
UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle to travel between sites
Clear, concise, and accurate communicator with the ability to liaise and build successful relationships with a range of colleagues, players and parents
Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of applied anatomy and pediatric injuries, ideally in a sporting environment
Must be available to work flexibly, predominantly on evenings and weekends
Nice to have:
Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy)
Experience of working within an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team
