Job Description:

The Academy Therapist will be part of a wider Therapy team responsible for providing pitch side emergency aid cover to Academy Players (Pre-Academy up to aged 16 groups).

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing pitch side emergency medical services during academy training sessions and fixtures
  • Assisting full time Academy medical and sport science staff in the assessment and rehabilitation of injured players
  • Delivery of bespoke activation, warm up and individual and group gym/pitch sessions focused on athletic development
  • Implementation of specific injury reduction strategies

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
  • Membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) or Membership to the Society of Sports Therapist or Sports Therapy Association
  • UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle to travel between sites
  • Clear, concise, and accurate communicator with the ability to liaise and build successful relationships with a range of colleagues, players and parents
  • Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of applied anatomy and pediatric injuries, ideally in a sporting environment
  • Must be available to work flexibly, predominantly on evenings and weekends

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy)
  • Experience of working within an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team
  • Pitch side medical care qualification
