A passion for developing and promoting programming that enhances each resident’s quality of life
High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred
An Activity Director, or Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification is preferred
Three years’ experience developing life enrichment programs and conducting activities for residents in a long-term care setting OR a combination of education and experience
Excellent computer skills and proficient in word, outlook, and other software programs used by Baruch
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Job Responsibility

Planning, implementing, scope, and emphasis of life enrichment programs to encourage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs
Produce and distribute the monthly community newsletter and activities calendar
Plan and assist in research projects
Responsible for the volunteer program

Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods

Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care
