Compass Associates are proud to be working with a leading private healthcare provider in the search for Theatre Practitioners (RGN or ODP qualified) to join their growing theatre department at their well-established hospital in Plymouth. The hospital delivers a broad range of elective surgical procedures including Orthopaedics, Cosmetics, Gynaecology and Urology to name a few, and prides itself on delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive and collaborative theatre environment.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting a wide range of surgical procedures within theatres
Preparing and maintaining sterile fields throughout operations
Scrubbing for procedures and anticipating the needs of the surgical team
Ensuring theatre equipment, instrumentation and consumables are prepared and checked appropriately
Monitoring and maintaining patient safety throughout the perioperative pathway
Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists, ODPs and wider theatre staff
Supporting the smooth running of theatre lists and effective theatre turnaround times
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with governance standards
Participating in weekend and on-call rotas where required
Contributing positively to a supportive and team-focused theatre culture
Requirements:
RGN or ODP qualification with valid NMC or HCPC registration
Previous theatre experience within a hospital setting
Practical scrub experience is essential – we are welcome applications from any specialities
Ability to work effectively within a busy theatre environment
Flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
