Job Description

A Rare Opportunity to Build a Theatre Service From Scratch. Leading the set-up and delivery of theatres within a brand-new, state-of-the-art private hospital in Cambridge. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will directly shape how services are delivered from day one.

Job Responsibility

  • Overseeing day-to-day theatre operations and perioperative care
  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing theatre team
  • Implementing and embedding clinical governance and quality frameworks
  • Driving theatre efficiency, utilisation, and patient outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders including the Clinical Services Director and Medical Director

Requirements

  • NMC or HCPC registered practitioner
  • Strong perioperative background (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery)
  • Previous experience in a theatre leadership/management role
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and influence teams
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement
  • Experience with CQC inspections or readiness
  • Commercial awareness and operational management experience

  • Promote and embed a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis and information triangulation to ensure lessons are learned
  • Lead and co-ordinate the site’s clinical governance and quality assurance programmes to ensure safe and high-quality patient care
  • Review and analyse quality, safety, and governance data, using Welbeck systems to identify trends, and deliver improvement actions
  • Produce high-quality governance reports for the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee and other governance committees
  • Support the hospital in achieving and maintaining a ‘Good’ or higher rating in regulatory inspections
  • Manage the complaints process, ensuring that all complaints are investigated and appropriately closed with a focus on learning and resolution
