Job Responsibility
Provide clinical leadership to the perioperative team, act as a role model and mentor to theatre staff and support the Theatre and Procedural Suite Managers in the operational management of the department
Be an effective decision maker, able to manage complex and unpredictable work patterns, prioritise effectively, and act on your own initiative
Take charge of the theatre department under the direction of the Theatre Manager, leading and managing the day-to-day coordination and clinical operations of the theatre suite at Welbeck Oxford
Ensure the safe and timely provision of perioperative care to all patients undergoing surgical procedures, maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety and AfPP best practice at all times
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the perioperative team, supporting ongoing staff development, service improvement and professional standards in line with NMC/HCPC requirements
Proactively respond to and lead on clinical incidents, staffing challenges and theatre flow issues, with support from the Theatre Manager
Support the Theatre and Procedural Suite Managers in maintaining a safe and appropriately staffed departments, including completion of staff rotas and skill mix review
Ensure full compliance with CQC requirements, AfPP standards, WHO Surgical Safety Checklists, and all relevant Welbeck Oxford policies and procedures
Requirements
Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) qualification
Evidence of ongoing professional development and revalidation
