Job Description

The Break Food Runner plays a vital role in delivering an excellent dining experience by transporting food from the kitchen to guests efficiently and accurately. This position serves as a crucial connection between the back-of-house and front-of-house teams, ensuring all dishes are presented properly, special requests are followed, and service flows smoothly. The Break welcomes visitors into a comfortable place to relax, get work done or enjoy a game, all overlooking Hulopo’e Bay.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver food from kitchen to correct tables and seats promptly
  • Verify order accuracy, completeness, modifications, and allergen requests
  • Coordinate dishes and table numbers to support service flow
  • Demonstrate food and beverage knowledge when presenting items
  • Provide warm, polite, and professional guest interactions
  • Assist with table maintenance
  • Support dining room setup prior to service
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of side stations and service areas
  • Execute beverage and service setups
  • Polish silverware and glassware
  • Set up ice buckets, water stations, and service displays
  • Transition display cases and complete end-of-night breakdown
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to concerns

Requirements

  • Legal work authorization in United States
  • Hospitality business functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
  • Holidays and weekends availability
  • Tuberculous (TB) clearance card required by Hawaii State Department of Health
  • Hawaii Food Handler's Card
  • Maui Liquor Card preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Push/pull as needed
  • Guest-focused mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
