Job Description

We have an exciting and brand-new full-time opportunity for a passionate Textile Designer to join our Design Team. Reporting directly to our Head of Buying and Product Development, we are looking for a positive and energetic creative who will absolutely love translating their flair into amazing designs that will move and inspire our customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Development and preparation of artwork and designs for the Morgan and Finch and Cotton House branded bed linen – including a wide range of prints and weaves
  • Contribution to the development and preparation of artwork and designs for licensed brands such as Harlequin, Morris & Co and Sanderson and related products
  • Development & preparation of artwork for textiles and extending into design for hard goods product
  • Researching and developing seasonal trend boards
  • Maintenance of our design library

Requirements

  • Textile design course or similar qualification with 5+ years' experience
  • Flair for and ability to produce drawings/sketches and hand painted work as well as completed designs
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using design software - Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Sound understanding of a wide range of print, pattern and woven design styles and colour relationships
  • Sound understanding of home furnishing fashion trends, design pattern repeats and ability to work from concept to finished artwork
  • Enthusiasm for and willingness to experiment with different design styles
  • Ability to research and create mood boards to develop commercial bed linen designs
  • Awareness of the homewares retail landscape both in Australia and Overseas
  • Ability to work as an important member of a cross functional team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • High level of organizational skills
