Job Description

The Test Technician II position will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and dependability of products by conducting testing and troubleshooting of various electronic components and systems. Attention to detail and technical proficiency will be critical in upholding the highest standards of quality and performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Performs functional testing and troubleshooting techniques at the unit level
  • Analyzes unit failures to determine probable cause and interfaces with support engineers and/or Production Supervisor for corrective action
  • Records shift testing and troubleshooting data on applicable data systems
  • Coordinates inter-shift communications on problems and new procedures when necessary
  • Works from initial test procedures and recommends changes/improvements to test engineers
  • Provides technical assistance in testing and troubleshooting as needed to lower-level technicians
  • Follows testing procedures and ensures compliance with quality standards
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electronic technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years electronics technology experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscope, voltmeter, toneohm, and RCL meter
  • Must be able to read/interpret schematics
  • Requires a mixture of standing and sitting
  • May require handling of/or exposure to chemicals used in the assembly process
  • Requires lifting of up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Inter, intra-departmental and external contact required
  • Experience with troubleshooting techniques at the unit level
