Job Description

The Systems Engineering Manager - Test Solutions provides people leadership within the Test Systems Engineering discipline, a specialization of Systems & Measurement Engineering – to enable delivery & sustaining of our New product introduction & Legacy Manufacturing test solutions. Candidates will demonstrate excellent project & delivery management leadership and be experienced in providing clear direction for the engineering team. They will be responsible for collaborating with Technical Leads to recruit and grow the team to ensure the right skillsets, knowledge and behaviors are maintained, and that the team retains its excellent capability. This role will support budget and strategy development in the department. In collaboration with technical leads, they will be responsible for technology selection and development, to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our ResMed test solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and inspire a team of 9+ engineers (as well as indirect, and contingent members), globally (Sydney, Singapore, Los Angeles), fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous learning

  • Build capability through smart recruitment, targeted development, and clear succession planning to ensure long-term technical strength
  • Translate ResMed’s vision and operational priorities into actionable strategies for test engineering excellence
  • Develop, communicate, and execute a clear engineering strategy that aligns with department objectives and future supply chain priorities
  • Ensure delivery of new and sustaining test systems across NPI and legacy programs — on time, to budget, and to specification
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads to prioritize and resource projects effectively across multiple programs
  • Work across Product, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier Engineering teams to align on requirements, readiness, and lifecycle management of test systems
  • Partner with suppliers to develop and maintain their capability to deliver reliable and cost-effective test solutions
  • Represent the Test Engineering team in technical reviews, operational readiness, and strategic planning discussions
  • Foster innovation in test technology, automation, and data analytics to improve coverage, efficiency, and reliability
  • Champion the adoption of modern design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-manufacture (DFM) principles
  • Drive initiatives that enhance team efficiency, knowledge sharing, and digital integration across systems

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Software, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years in engineering and people leadership roles, ideally within manufacturing, test, or systems environments
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical teams, driving delivery, and developing talent
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and influence skills across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven capability in managing a diverse range of deliverables across multiple projects and stakeholder groups
  • Deep understanding of production test system development, validation, and lifecycle management
  • Experience in DFT/DFM, automation, or PCBA test systems (ICT, FCT, RF)
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (GMP, FDA QSR, ISO Standards)
  • Strategic yet hands-on
