Job Description

Seeking a Systems Engineer with strong experience in hardware test and verification to support complex defense programs. This role is responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing test environments and methodologies across the full product lifecycle – from development through production and field deployment. This is a hands-on, cross-functional engineering role requiring deep knowledge of test systems, hardware integration, and verification & validation practices in a regulated environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and document test requirements, capabilities, and system-level test strategies
  • Design and integrate test environments for hardware systems (component to full system level)
  • Lead integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities across development and production phases
  • Develop and evaluate test methodologies, setups, prototypes, models, and simulations
  • Support transition of test equipment and processes into manufacturing environments
  • Identify technical risks and drive mitigation strategies related to system test and performance
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing)
  • Support customer-facing technical discussions in a defense contract environment
  • Contribute to affordability initiatives through built-in-test strategies and lifecycle cost awareness

Requirements

  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Engineering, Science, or related technical field)
  • Proven Systems Engineering experience supporting hardware test environments
  • Strong background in: Test requirements development
  • Test planning and documentation
  • Embedded functional test
  • Hardware integration
  • Verification & Validation (V&V) methodologies
  • Experience applying a systems engineering approach across the full product lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with developmental test processes and test equipment design
  • Ability to assess system-level technical risk and program impact
  • Experience working in regulated or defense-related environments

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs
