The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Job Responsibility:
Primary function is to support the Launch Control Center firing room console operations
integrating tests of ground support equipment, spaceflight hardware, and Launch of the SLS rocket
Serve as the technical advisor to the Test Management Team and provide real-time technical integration in support of all anomalies/non-conformances for all firing room managed activities
Real-time technical integration between console/engineering disciplines, elements/programs, and other stakeholders across multiple NASA programs
Support Exploration Ground Systems and Cross Program planning, test plan development, and support the path to testing assessment while identifying dependencies
Responsible for authoring and executing work plans for Integrated Test and Check Out
Lead the development of operational test requirements and launch commit criteria for the SLS/ORION/EGS programs
Serve as a technical specialist and acts as a contributing member of management teams for policy formulation
Performs random quality and continuous improvement assessments on work plans to ensure procedures are being followed and work is completed correctly
Perform and take on new projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution
Candidate must possess at least four (4) years of experience
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills required with a proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
Candidates should have academic and/or work experience in multiple engineering disciplines
mechanical, electrical, RF, controls, fluid, and software systems
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Capable of reading/understanding technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
Must be a Leader with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision
Experience with Microsoft Office products
May require working off shift and weekends
If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
Must be a U.S. Citizen
