We are seeking a Test Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate the infrastructure, environments, and tooling that enable effective testing across complex software and infrastructure systems. This role focuses on test environments, system integration scaffolding, automation platforms, and CI/CD-integrated test infrastructure, rather than writing application test cases. The ideal candidate is a strong infrastructure or platform engineer with a testing mindset—someone who enables teams to test reliably, repeatedly, and at scale.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, build, and maintain test infrastructure supporting software, platform, and infrastructure teams
  • Provision and manage test environments that mirror production and operational systems
  • Build and maintain test harnesses, simulators, mocks, and stubs for external systems, data sources, and interfaces
  • Support testing of distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, and high-availability services
  • Integrate test infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated integration, regression, and system testing
  • Collaborate with software, platform, SRE, network, storage, and security teams to understand test requirements
  • Support testing across multiple domains, including: APIs and microservices, Infrastructure and platform services, Messaging and streaming systems, User-facing applications
  • Maintain environment configuration, versioning, and reproducibility
  • Troubleshoot test environment failures and infrastructure issues
  • Improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability of test platforms
  • Document test infrastructure designs, usage patterns, and operational procedures
  • Participate in Agile planning and cross-team technical discussions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or test infrastructure
  • Strong experience working in Linux environments
  • Experience building or operating test or non-production environments
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and automated test execution
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Experience scripting or automating workflows using Python, Bash, or similar
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts
  • Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting IaaS, PaaS, or SRE teams
  • Experience building simulators or mock services for external systems
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
