Job Description

The Test team is responsible for developing infrastructure to perform tests on fuel & hydraulic system components. The test team works with hardware owners to define testing requirements, design & implement test fixtures, and assist in data collection to inform and verify design decisions.

Job Responsibility

  • Design test fixtures and interfaces
  • Perform analysis to determine target test points, instrumentation, and ensure sufficient test safety margins
  • Organize and run test design reviews with stakeholders in cross-functional teams
  • Create manufacturing plans for test components/fixtures and work directly with manufacturing/build teams to monitor build progress and assist in resolving issues
  • Design and release flight-like hardware as necessary for test (including CAD and drawing creation)

Requirements

  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)
  • Strong interest in testing
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Assist with and observe all facets of flight testing, from initial planning and operations through execution, data collection, reduction and analysis, report writing and recommendations to ensure on-time completion
  • Assist with reviewing and identifying potential issues relating to modification packages for air vehicles, ground control stations, and other support equipment
