We are looking for a reliable Test Center Administrator to support daily operations at a testing site in Chicago, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, assisting test takers, and maintaining a secure and organized setting. The person in this role will welcome candidates, oversee check-in procedures, and help ensure testing sessions run smoothly. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, comfort with computer-based systems, and the ability to stay active throughout the day.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome test takers at the front desk and guide them through the check-in process in a courteous and attentive manner
Verify candidate identification and confirm testing eligibility before admitting individuals to the exam area
Conduct security screening by reviewing personal items and ensuring prohibited materials are not brought into the testing room
Monitor the testing space at regular intervals to uphold exam integrity and address any concerns promptly
Support web-based exam administration by assisting with computer-based testing procedures and basic troubleshooting when needed
Perform light administrative tasks such as organizing records, maintaining logs, and keeping the reception area orderly
Maintain a quiet, secure, and well-managed environment for candidates completing credentialing and certification exams
Move throughout the testing center consistently during scheduled sessions to observe activity and reinforce compliance with site rules
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in administrative support, office assistance, or a customer-facing operational role
Ability to verify identification accurately and follow established security procedures with close attention to detail
Comfortable using computers, web-based applications, and basic office technology in a detail-focused setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and clearly with a wide range of test takers
Ability to remain on your feet, walk the testing room frequently, and handle a role that involves regular movement throughout the day
Sound judgment and reliability when monitoring compliance and responding to testing-related issues
Availability to work within the testing center's operating schedule, including Monday and Saturday hours
