The Boeing Company is seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineer to support development/risk reduction and qualification test activities for the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) Program. The position will lead and support the design and definition of all the aspects involved in the execution of our development/risk reduction or qualification tests. Job Responsibility:
Acts as the Deputy Test Director for the EUS Wet Dress Rehearsal and Hot Fire test to be performed at Stennis Space Center, MS – Temporary Assignment required if based in AL or FL
Leads a multifunction team of test engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME)
Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
Leads the development of test procedures to incorporate vehicle and system maturity updates while ensuring test maintenance requirements and verification objectives are met
Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures
Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve the test requirements
Oversees debriefing of the test team
Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements
Approves test data prior to delivery to customer
Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data
Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity
Responsible for training of cross-functional support team members in preparations for integrated vehicle testing
Works under minimal direction
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
7+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution
3+ years of experience working directly on vehicles with Cryogenic Propulsion Systems (RS-68, SSME, RS-25, RL-10, J-2X, RD-180, etc)
Experience with system level testing of flight vehicle main propulsion, thrust vector control, and avionics systems
Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
Engineering related experience interfacing with customers
Willing to travel domestically as needed
Ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility
U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 required
Nice to have:
Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with integrated ground and flight command, control, and communication systems
Experience with cryogenic propellant loading operations
