You will join a growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) who specialise in LV electricity networks as well as renewable energy projects. This role will be within the design team, focusing on supporting and growing the business through customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Tendering Manager, the Tendering & Design Engineer will provide multi utility quotations and designs for the company’s customers for commercial and residential works being completed across the UK. You will be responsible for multi utility designs and quotations in accordance with the companies standards.
Job Responsibility:
Liaise closely with the customer to ensure quotations and designs meet the client’s expectations
Complete designs that satisfy the customers needs as well as the internal stakeholders needs - be able to provide the lowest cost for the greatest benefit of the customer and company
Assist the Tendering & Design Manager in the development in greater efficiency in the company
Comply with the latest company procedures, legislation and industry skills on all aspects of day-to-day work
Issue data and reports in line with business requirements
Liaise with the Land Rights team to ensure designs are accurately produced to ensure work is completed quickly and effectively
Achieve high customer satisfaction with the company’s quotation / design / variation process - these need to meet the customer’s expectations
Produce construction packs for the Construction Team to build in accordance with timescales and customer requirements
Undertake demand calculations, network drawings and variations to ensure network designs are fit for purpose and in accordance with the company’s and industry standards
Maintain and improve consistent accuracy of data asset records
Provide support to external / internal customers as required
Requirements:
Must have knowledge of current legislation, technical standards & specifications, codes of practice and recommendations relating to utility design and be aware of the implications to the safe asset operation of the prescribed standards
Preferably be registered as an EngTech Engineer within an appropriate institution, hold a suitable and recognised associated qualification or be prepared to work towards registration
Must have a CSCS Card or gas/electricity SHEA passport
Have recent utility network design experience
Be competent in the use of all Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and have knowledge of Geographical Mapping Systems
