Job Description

Randstad are looking for a dedicated Tenancy Support Worker. In this role, you will work independently across Edinburgh and Midlothian, providing vital tenancy sustainment support to older adults. You'll be helping them maintain stable accommodation, navigate housing systems, and live independently with dignity.

Job Responsibility

  • Tenancy Sustainment: Providing hands-on support to help older adults maintain stable, safe, and secure accommodation
  • Financial & Housing Admin: Assisting individuals with housing applications, Housing Benefit claims, and sourcing grants
  • Setting up Homes: Helping clients set up essential utilities (gas, electricity, etc.) to ensure a smooth transition or continuation of their tenancy
  • Community Outreach: Traveling independently across the Edinburgh, Midlothian, and Penicuik areas to deliver personalized care and support

Requirements

  • PVG
  • 6 months experience supporting older adults within a care or support setting
  • Driver

  • Safeguarding: Remain vigilant to risks and concerns, following safeguarding protocols and reporting concerns promptly at all times
  • Build Positive Relationships: Establish trusting and professional relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model and maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Emotional Support: Offer guidance and emotional support to help young people manage their emotions, behaviour, and mental health
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of daily logs, incidents, monthly reports, keywork sessions, risk assessments, and support plans
  • Multi-Agency Working: Liaise with social workers, education providers, mental health services, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective support
  • Promote Meaningful Routines: Assist young people in planning and engaging in healthy daily routines that support wellbeing and structure
  • Crisis Management: Respond effectively and calmly to challenging behaviour and crisis situations, using approved de-escalation techniques where appropriate
