Job Description

As a Tenancy Support Worker, you will provide crucial assistance to individuals in Edinburgh, Midlothian, and Penicuik. Your role will involve empowering clients to sustain their tenancies through comprehensive support services. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to work effectively within a community setting.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide direct support to individuals to help them maintain stable accommodation
  • Assist clients with housing applications, including Housing Benefit and other relevant grants
  • Support clients in setting up essential utilities such as gas and electricity
  • Deliver tenancy sustainment support to prevent homelessness and promote independent living
  • Conduct assessments and develop support plans tailored to individual client needs
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure holistic client support.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of previous experience supporting older adults within a care setting
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • Access to a personal vehicle is required for community-based work
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of tenancy sustainment principles and housing support.
