Job Description:

Exciting Role! Support at-risk youth in achieving housing stability in this evidence-based program. Guide practitioners across the South and East Division of Victoria on tenancy best practices and other specialist youth practice frameworks. Build key partnerships with landlords & support agencies. Develop personalised tenancy support plans. Join our passionate team!

Job Responsibility:

  • Specialise in At-Risk Tenancy Support: Provide expert guidance to Youth Housing First practitioners on strategies to prevent and address housing instability
  • Direct Intervention: Work closely with practitioners and housing providers to proactively support young people facing tenancy challenges
  • Build Strong Community Partnerships: Develop and maintain crucial relationships with landlords, real estate agents, and other support services
  • Individualised Tenancy Support Plans: Collaborate with practitioners to create personalised tenancy support goals for each young person
  • Increase Housing Stability: Contribute significantly to the success of the Youth Housing First program by helping young people achieve and maintain long-term stable housing

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act VIC (1997) and experience applying the Act to support vulnerable tenancies
  • Housing Market Proficiency & Housing First Approach: Proven ability to navigate the housing market effectively, with strong relationships within the housing sector
  • An understanding of Youth Homelessness & Out-of-Home Care: Knowledge of the unique challenges and support needs of young people experiencing homelessness
  • Strong Interpersonal & Collaborative Skills: Effective team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police Check
  • Minimum Diploma Community Services and/or experience appropriate to the field
