Requirements

BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience, ideally with a mix of site and design office exposure, particularly in Temporary Works Design
Incorporated/Chartered or working towards professional qualification
Proficient in structural analysis and CAD software (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD)
Working knowledge of BS 5975 and experience with steelwork and timber codes
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Full UK driving licence

Job Responsibility

Review and check temporary structure designs, including calculations, drawings, and design certificates
Conduct structural analysis of existing equipment to ensure compliance with safety and design standards
Design modifications to existing equipment and develop new designs as required
Produce detailed drawings suitable for manufacturing
Assist with estimating by obtaining or providing pricing information

Requirements

Demonstrable experience as a Temporary Works Design Engineer or Civil / Structural Engineer
Previous experience with Design Engineering consultancy, main contractor, subcontractor
Previous experience on Building or infrastructure / civil engineering projects
Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc) - Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
Working experience of AutoCAD 2D and 3D, and various others design software packages (i.e. Hilti profis, Tensar, Beam Pal/ RMD Beam, GFSafe, WALLAP, ROBOT and Tekla TEDDS and Tekla Structural Designer) used for Temporary Works designs and checks
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Responsibility

Attending meetings and site visits to discuss Engineering services for specific tenders and projects
Assisting in the production of design briefs
Prepare and/or check design calculations by other members of the design team or by external design organisations / consultants
Producing and supervising the production of drawings, schedules based on the results of design calculations
Developing solutions with due consideration for HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality etc) and constructability with the end user in mind
Ensure that designs and design checks are completed on time and within fee estimates
Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and the company Construction Business Management System
